While a space is still being located for the construction of a multilevel parking building, Bautista is proposing that in the meantime, a collapsible structure could be used.
The structure would reportedly cost P11 million. He did not elaborate where the structure would be put up.
In the previous City Council, proposals for a multilevel parking cropped up anew. The intent was to transfer all loading areas of jeepneys in one zone and to decongest streets and open spaces used as parking spaces.
The proposed site was at the vacant lot near the children's playground in Burnham Park. But the plan was never realized following opposition that any portion of the park could not be used for the put-up of vertical structures. (RO)
