Civil Service to recognize great gov’t workers

THE Civil Service Commission (CSC) will conduct the regional recognition program for public service exemplars in Cordillera on September 28.

Leading the awardees is Lingkod Bayan awardee (group category) -- the Development of Potato and Sweet Potato Varieties for Cordillera, Benguet State University. The group was conferred the award during recognition rites at the CCP on September 19, together with 23 other awardees nationwide. The group is the lone national winner from the region to the search for outstanding public officials and employees, the most prestigious civil service awards conducted annually by the CSC.

Lingkod Bayan awardees receive a gold (gilded) medallion, a plaque containing the citation and signature of the President of the Philippines and cash award of P100,000.

Other awardees during the regional recognition program are the other finalists to the annual CSC search: Dr. Belinda A. Tad-awan, associate professor I, BSU; SPO4 Mercedes M. Garcia, Baguio City Police Office; Janet P. Armas, social welfare officer IV, DSWD RO; Norma D. Bustarde, master teacher II, DepEd Rizal ES, Baguio City; Lilibeth B. Martin, medical technologist II, Provincial Health Office, PGO Abra and the Social Hygiene Clinic, Health Services Office, Baguio City Government (leader: Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes, members: Jeannie Cecilia Boquiren, Christopher Hortaleza).

Nominators of the awardees will also be given certificates of recognition.

Another highlight of the event will be the recognition of winners in the local CSC–Cordillera search program, the search for the best Praise Committee in the region. On its second year, the search aims to recognize best performing agency Praise committees in Cordillera and to highlight the critical role of the agency Praise committees in the implementation of the Honor Awards program in the region. Prizes include plaques of recognition and cash incentives.

Heads of agencies and the local media are invited to the event. Interested parties may coordinate with the CSC regional office or its field offices.
