Among the planned developments in the area is installation of a rubber racetrack in place of the present racetrack made of soil, which becomes muddy during the rainy season and dusty during the dry season. The center oval would also be leveled.
The rubber track is modeled from the Teacher's Camp oval.
The Athletic Bowl, aside from being used as a training venue and site for school and local sports fests, is also the preferred venue for large assemblies.
The Athletic Bowl also houses the city swimming pool, which was earlier called a white elephant by a city executive. (RO)
