Special kids undergo arts training

SPECIAL and different-abled children underwent a special arts training by the Konseho ng Sining ng Baguio, a new organization of local artists, last week at the Sunshine Park.

The training-workshop is the first of a series to be done by the newly-formed group.

Around 100 children participated in the initial training done, under the supervision of Ben Hur Villanueva, a local artist in Baguio City.

The workshops will involve trainings in the seven arts, namely, sculpture, painting, music, dance, film, theater, and gymnastics.

After the success of the first workshop, the Konseho ng Sining ng Baguio will hold another workshop on March 9, this time on music.

It will be launched at the Malcolm Square through a concert in the park concept, spearheaded by students of the North Luzon Association for the Blind (NLAB).

This concert in the park would ultimately signal activities lined up by the Kafagway Summer Best, said the event's coordinator Narciso Padilla.

The Kafagway Summer Best is sponsored by the National Correspondents Club of Baguio, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, SumVac 2008 and the Baguio Centennial Commission. (RO)
