Review center faces raps

ANOTHER review center is in hot water.

Midwifery graduates from Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte has threatened to sue the Northcap Review Center for failing to process their documents, which would permit them to take the board examinations last month.

One of the complainants, Mark Anthony Molina said Northcap volunteered to process their papers for the board examinations at the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC).

Not wanting to wait in the long line of applicants, Molina said he and other reviewees agreed to pay an additional P800 for the special service.

A day before the scheduled examinations, Molina said an employee of Northcap informed them their names were not included in the roster of examinees.

Molina said they papers were not processed because one of their new employees stole the money.

He said they confronted the employees of Northcap who assured them their papers will be processed but no amount of explanation could convince them.

Northcap denied taking the money from them claiming the center too was a victim by the employee.

Molina said they will demand a refund of all payments made or an average of P20,000 for every reviewee.

Last week, around 30 out of the more than a hundred reviewees sought the assistance of Baguio Councilor Richard Cariño.

Molina said they would file charges if Northcap will not refund their money.

Last year, the Gapuz Review Center was caught in a controversy when it was implicated in leaking questions and answers to their reviewees of the Nursing board examinations. Gapuz center claimed they were also a victim, saying employees of the PRC allegedly leaked it to them.

Meanwhile, Cariño and the other reviewers are set to meet again Tuesday to discuss the next step in their action. (RO)
