Time to rehab Casa Vallejo
By Rimaliza Opiña

THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is now ready to bid out and restore the Casa Vallejo building.

The exact date of when the building will be bid out has not been issued yet but this will be done within the year.

Baguio Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr., meanwhile said this development is timely. With its deteriorating state, the building should now be renovated, he said.

"It's about time the DENR does something to it," Bautista said.

Last year, the City Council passed a resolution requesting the DENR to transfer ownership of the building to the city, it being of historical significance.

Located at Upper Session Road, Casa Vallejo Inn was one of the lodging houses built when Baguio was founded in 1909.
