Police daycare center starts summer class

THE 59th daycare center of La Trinidad, Benguet, which was established inside Camp Bado Dangwa, formally opened its doors for the first time with a summer session last May 12.

This was established by the Officers' Ladies Club of the Cordillera Police Regional Office in coordination with the local government of La Trinidad and its Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

"The establishment of a daycare center in Camp Dangwa was a project of the Officers' Ladies Club of Pro-Cordillera and this was accredited by the MSWDO. The MSWD personnel who visited the center appreciated the structure and will recommend it to be the model among other day care centers within La Trinidad," said Pro Director Eugene Martin.

Before the daycare center opened, an orientation seminar conducted last May 6 was led by Senior Inspector Gloria Antalan of the Pro-Cordillera; Mrs. Prescila Martin, adviser of the Pro-Cordillera Officers' Ladies Club; and Mrs. Irene Tagtag, officer-in-charge of the MSWDO. It was attended by parents of daycare children, daycare workers and members of the Pro-Cordillera Officers' Ladies Club.

During the seminar, Mrs. Cristina Anioay, MSWDO focal person, discussed the Early Childhood Care Development program, day care programs and day care services.

The seminar was centered on mother and child care. Anioay emphasized on the proper child development, which affects the performance of the child. She also elaborated on care programs like pregnancy, survival and development of children. She also stressed on good prenatal condition and nutrition to help children cope with society.

The daycare center formally opened its summer classes last May 12. (ENO)
