Public hearing on flyover, underpass construction sought

THE bid to add roads here through the construction of flyovers and underpasses requires several matters, which only residents could answer.

This was contained in the recommendations of signed by District Engineer Nerie Bueno, in response to Resolution 119-2008, which was recently approved.

The resolution tasked by the City Development Council (CDC) to undertake a feasibility study on the possibility of constructing flyovers and underpass at the Naguilian-Bokawkan intersection, Quezon Hill-Lourdes extension, National Bureau of Investigation-Department of the Interior and Local Government-Court of Appeals (NBI-DILG-CA) intersection and other major convergences.

The CDC was also tasked to study the financial requirements and engineering aspects in putting-up these structures.

Bueno recommended a public consultation to be done to determine acceptance of any proposed project.

The extent of the widening in consonance with design standards and acquisition of road-right-of-ways of affected properties will also have to be considered.

The proposal to build more road networks has been suggested by several sectors, to accommodate the growing number of vehicles traversing the city's roads. (RO)
