Just like in other local governments, the management of Patrol 117 centers has been transferred to the City Government of Baguio, in view of plans to improve the quick response mechanism of the government.
Set up in 2004, Patrol 117 used to have a centralized operation and calls are first screened in their Manila office, before they are referred to numbers within each locality.
The system, which used to be operated by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), has been transferred to local governments, so the latter can now allot funds for its operations.
The city's disaster response team is composed of a fusion of both government and non-government groups. A memorandum of agreement has been signed by the DILG and the City Government, but its full operation has yet to commence, pending the establishment of an office. (RO)
