Sunday, July 06, 2008 2 jailed for empty gun By Ernie N. Olson Jr.
TWO men landed in jail, after they were caught creating trouble with an empty gun, at the gasoline station located along Harrison Road. They were Arnold Ambloza Moreno, 25, of Asin Road, and Bryan Marthy Verzola, 21, of Bakakeng Central.
Moreno and Verzola were arrested by Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) policemen of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), after one of them suddenly punched a passenger of a public utility jeepney, while the other backed him up with the empty firearm.
Police said one of the suspects hit an unidentified passenger of a public utility jeepney with his bare fist, while his companion stood guard to back him up with what was described as a caliber .22 revolver at the Petron service station between the Baguio Patriotic School and the Social Security System building.
But Swat policemen responded to a call for help by an unidentified caller. The police caught both men.
They found the gun empty.
The duo was still charged with illegal possession of firearms.
