While 686 persons belonging to 151 families region-wide evacuated.

A total of 1,031 other persons belonging to 220 families were also adversely affected.

Regional Director Olivia Luces of the Office of Civil Defense in the Cordillera identified the fatalities last Monday as Ismael Gayban, 52, who resided in Buanao, Malibcong, Abra; Anna Balweg, 12, from Mataragan, Malibcong, Abra; and Dale Malaggay, 3, from Duldulao, Malibcong, Abra.

Injured also was Bilis Balweg, 53, grandmother of fatality Anna from the same town; while still missing as of 11 a.m. Monday was Gemma Gonnawa Malaggay, 34, mother of the youngest fatality.

Gemma and Dale Malaggay were reportedly crossing the Abra River at 7 p.m. of July 27, when they were washed away by the strong current in Poblacion, Malibcong, Abra.

Gayban, on the other hand, was walking along a trail in a mountainous area in the same town, when he was covered by a landslide at 4 p.m. the same day.

Bilis and granddaughter Anna Balweg were also struck by lightning, injuring her and killing the young girl, in the same town at around that same time and date.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported all major roads and bridges within the Cordillera, except for the wooden bridge in Subagan, Baay-Licuan, have already been opened to vehicular traffic.
