Tuesday, August 05, 2008 Cayading: A dream come true By Trinidad A. Cayading D'Biz News
IN 2004, a strategic planning workshop was conducted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), one of the strongest business organizations in the country today. The program was implemented under the able leadership of its first woman president, Mrs. Naomi Saludo.
One of the focuses of the workshop was on the strengthening of the PCCI local chambers network through standardization of chamber by-laws, standardization of procedures and activity scheduling, Chamber Law, national membership database and PCCI Business Institute. It was a call for UNITY!
The workshop also underscores the strategic role that local chambers of commerce play in helping SMEs become more attractive to existing market leaders and in providing a more nurturing and enabling environment for the countryside entrepreneurs to become globally-competitive.
With this vision, the Baguio-Benguet Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (BBCCII) and other local chambers nationwide favorably responded by amending their local identities, rejoined the organization under the name of the
Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and belong to a local chapter.
This move was facilitated by the PCCI-CAR Regional Governor, Engr. Alfonso Lao and the Area Vice President -- PCCI North Luzon, Mr. Nelson Yunchongtian. On behalf of the BBCCII officials...with this dream that came to reality, we wish to inform you that effective August 1, 2008 ...we now call our chamber...Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Baguio-Benguet Chapter, and of course...still under the same leadership of Mr. J. Johnny de la Cruz, its directorship and programs and services to its members.
