Itogon officials earlier opposed the survey of what is supposed to be the settlement of the boundary conflict between the two municipalities to the Benguet Provincial Board, claiming this has expanded the land area of Tuba.
Bentrez however clarified the report submitted to the Board did not include the areas which were disputed.
Itogon Vice-Mayor Noel Ngolob has asked the Board to either settle the boundary conflict or certify this be brought to the courts for resolution.
Recently, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released the shares of the two towns from the mining taxes paid by Philex Mining Corporation.
Both localities got more than P11 million while the two barangays in each town received P8.6 million each.
Itogon and Tuba have a standing 50-50 sharing agreement on the shares from the national wealth taxes derived from Philex, pending the resolution of their boundary tiff.
The disputed areas between the two towns are also not included in the computation of the Internal Revenue Allotment shares of the municipalities.
Bentrez said Tuba's P11-million shares will be used to fund development and livelihood programs for the town's people.
