SC upholds workers' right to night pay

THE Supreme Court (SC) upheld a lower court ruling, which obliged a mining company to pay its employees' union rightful benefits contained in their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

In a decision promulgated last August 20, the SC affirmed the Court of Appeals (CA) ruling that Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company owes its workers night differential and longevity pays as agreed in their fourth CBA signed in 1998.
