Senoto wins Pre-Centennial Golf Tournament

LARRY Senoto scored 49 points to secure the championship of the Baguio Centennial Commission Pre-Centennial Golf Tournament at the Baguio Country Club and the Camp John Hay golf course held last August 30 and 31.

Senoto earned the lowest net score in the tournament with Bert Laguipo carding 65 for the lowest gross points in the tournament.

In Class A division, Nelson Eslao took the championship trophy with Chester Calputora salvaging the first runner-up honors and Ed Montenegro bagging the second runner-up.

Bayani Tecson won the championship in Class B, while Dan Tenefrancia and Paul Quitiquit took home the first and second runner-up honors, respectively.

Rey Leung took home the championship honors in the Class C Division, Bob Tibbets receiving the first runner-up plum and Jun Basabica salvaging the second runner-up honors.

Class D was won by Jun Alzona while Empoy Chan bagged the first runner-up honors while Jovits Danganan was second runner-up.

In the Seniors Division, Joe Agoot took home the championship crown and Ben Balatian took home the runner-up honors while Nida Whybrow was crowned as the ladies champion while Anne Phillips took home the first runner-up honors.

Albert Balingit won the championship in the men's guest division with Jun Bacungan as runner-up, while Dahila Page took home the ladies crown and Wilma Macken as runner-up.

About 400 players were invited to play in one of the venues for P1,200.

The City Government sponsored the golf tournament and aims to help raise funds for the various activities that will be held in 2009 as part of the centennial anniversary. The funds would be able to support the sports activities slated by Dr. Charles Cheng. (R.Osis)
