Friday, September 05, 2008 La Trinidad seeks protection of school lot
FOR fear of encroachment, the Municipal Council of La Trinidad is seeking a presidential proclamation to declare a portion of land in La Trinidad under the name of a school.
Saying there are attempts by private persons to register a portion of the Puguis Elementary School for private use, the council passed a resolution seeking the reservation area under the school's name.
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Staff Bureaus Manuel Gerochi assured town officials the appropriate action will be done, as the Regional Trial Court (RTC) denied attempts to register parts of the land under the names of private individuals.
The Municipal Council sought the proclamation of lots one and two of PSU-144255, located at Puguis as a site reserved for the Puguis Elementary School to protect the area from encroachment.
Meanwhile, DENR-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Regional Executive Director Samuel Penafiel directed the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) to act on another council request for the cancellation of a title of another portion of lot under the name of a private person.
The council sought the cancellation of PSU-1007008 in the name of Matias Canabe et al. located at Barangay Cling in Sablan, but is actually located at Wangal, La Trinidad. (JC)
