By Jane Cadalig

CIVIL servants in the Cordillera have been consistently receiving awards for excellent public service in the past years, said Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Director Lorenzo Danipog.

This year, two government workers from Baguio City were chosen as among the awardees of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan and Dangal ng Bayan Awards.

"Since the establishment of the honor awards (for civil servants), CAR (Cordillera Autonomous Region) has already produced 61 awardees," Danipog said.

The CSC honor awards include the search for the Dangal ng Bayan, Pag-asa, and Lingkod Bayan Awards.

Twenty-five government employees from various parts of the region were already bestowed the Presidential Lingkod Bayan, 26 with Dangal ng Bayan, and 10 Pag-asa awards.

"There was even a time when the region made a grand slam in the honor awards when we won each of the categories," Danipog said.

Public servants in the region are guided by the principle that effective service is the only means to repay the public, he said.
