Sunday, October 12, 2008 6 teams square off in LT Cup Sunday By Roderick Osis
BOUNTY Fresh and Diane's Angels will bounce back from their opening loss while Blue Bird will try to improve its record when they face different foes in the second La Trinidad Trading Post League Sunday afternoon at the La Trinidad Municipal Gym.
Hebron Auto Parts and Buguias Farmers Association will try to barge into the win column when they face Bounty Fresh and Diane's Angels, respectively in the 3 p.m. curtain raiser and 6 p.m. bout.
Blue Bird, on the other hand, will try to secure its third win against league opener loser Jem Movers in their 4:30 p.m. game.
The La Trinidad Trading Post League was originally conceptualized to build camaraderie among trading post stakeholders including municipal employees, policemen and firemen.
Specifically, it was aimed to provide the porters a more productive activity where they could spend their free time instead of spending it on liquor after work.
Fourteen teams are seeing action in the tournament composed of stakeholders of the vegetable trading post, porters, purchasers, truckers, disposers, booth owners, and those working within the trading post and public market area.
La Trinidad police and fire officers and the Municipal Government have also fielded their own teams.
Diane's Angels ruled the first La Trinidad Trading Post League while La Trinidad - LGU (local government unit) copped the first runner up honors with Jem Movers taking the second runner - up plum.
