KOREANS dominated the recently concluded first Congressman Mauricio Domogan Golf Cup with Jong Won Park scoring 58 points in the par 72 Camp John Golf Course to claim the over-all champion in the filed of 170 golfers.
Fred Pucket totaled 54 of his gross 69 to claim the lowest gross award in the tournament, which aims to help the breastfeeding program of the Baguio Soroptimist International and the Palliative Care of the St. Louis University Sacred Heart Hospital.
In the women's division, Lilibeth Ratcliffe had a 46 to claim the championship honors in the Ladies A beating Korean Ilim Chok with her 44. Compatriot Hyun Swok Kwon also had 44 but had a lower handicap with 16 to claim the third spot in the one-day golf for a cause against Kwon's handicap of 12.
Glydel Mercado settled for fourth with 40 followed by Kyoung Ja Shin's 40 having a handicap of 16 against Mercado's 14.
Ann Phillips scored a 32 to upend an all Korean Ladies B to bag the title beating Eun Sun Jang. Angela Young, Seoung Soo Oh, and Hyun Choi capped the top five finishers in their bracket.
Richard Solang dominated Class A with his 53 against Korean Bum Bae Kim's 52 despite having a handicap of 11 against the latter's 9.
Rudy Lockey claimed third spot in their division followed by Sean Choi, Mars Garcia, Jeung Jung, Jun Cabiles, Jeff Razon, Moon Kya Cha, and Kenneth Juarez completing the top ten in their division.
Ed Montenegro had 49 to edge Bob Capuyan's 48 to claim the top honors in the Class B action with Inoc Laranang trailing at third with 46.
Nam Sik Cho's 45 earned him the fourth honors followed by Tolete Fabian, Mation Lardizabal, Abe Tolentino, Herr Bautista, Youn Hak Jung, and Ben Pul-oc completing the top ten in the Class B division.
In Class C, Virgilio Bucat scored 47 for the victory followed by far second Tony Garcia's 37. Paeng Ding earned 36 to beat Korean Sung Won Kang's 34 for the third and fourth place honors, respectively.
Kun Cheol Lee, Mat Luspian, Greg Abalos, Ed Camacho, and Edwin Cordova completed the top ten list in the Class C division of the tournament which also aims to help in the Medical and Optical mission of Domogan slated October 18 at the People's Park.
Organizers said at least P324,000 were generated from the golf tournament which was also organized as another way of celebrating Domogan's birthday.
