X Gen faces Panthers to resume winning ways

LEAGUE leader hopes to bounce back from a rare setback last week when it tangles with the Pretty Pink Panthers, which is also reeling from a humiliating defeat last week when games resume in the International Mixed Bowling League (IMBL) Wednesday night.

X Gen fell to Khatib last week, 9-15, and saw its lead dwindle to only to 1.25 won points to new second-ranked Cross Stitch.

Oscar Aquino, the spouses Rolly and Nitz de Guzman, Nelle Arciaga and Ed Claridad are back to find their winning ways against the foundering Panthers, which suffered a 4-20 beating from Chamba and see its standing drop to seventh from third.

Peter Go will be back after missing last week's game when he flew with son Nikko to Bacolod to compete in the annual bowling tournament in sugarlandia.

Joseph Tan has a lot of catching up that saw his high average title slowly slipping past him. The defending high average bowler has since then shed off more than seven pinfalls from his 180.8 pinfalls per game (ppg) to at least 173 ppg last week and probably even lower this week.

Jun Rialubin, Boy Retuya and Marice de Guzman have to go to work and deny X Gen the win.

Newly installed second-ranked Cross Stitch meets with the dangerous Mixed Nuts as the perennial brides maid tries to continue the luck it found in IMBL returnee Conrad Catral.

The septuagenarian has been playing good the past two weeks after replacing Commission on Audit Ben Ayoong who begged off from the league due to a busy schedule as executive of the government agency.

Dolph Lachica, Mike Ramat and defending most valuable players Ben Diaz and Flor Balaba will have their hands full against the Charlie Haber-led squad which has dangerous players like Ed Narvaez, Homer Manansala, Casey Batorne and Leah Torres.

Savers hopes to bounce also after losing to Palm Grove CCF Bowlers when it tangles with invigorated Chamba.

Racquel Abubo, chasing the elusive high average bowler plum, spouse Leo, Jimmy Uy, Jun Reyes and Nanding Albino are expected to have a tough time when they face Albert Buting, John Lee, Elmie Manansala and spouses Jimmy and Cathy Cabfit.

Defending champion and fourth-ranked Gerco meets with 13th ranked Top 40.
Teeners Nikko Go, who came off from a tournament in Bacolod, and Cheeno Loy are expected to lead the team past IMBL president Pigeon Lobien and company as the latter hopes for another upset against the team it beat during the first round.

Tony Salcedo, Mike Casuga and Doris Santiago will come face to face with Eli Demayo, Roland Ruaro, Gilbert Villafuerte and Jox Villanueva.

In other games, it will be Khatib against Mr. Donut, Palm Grove facing Moog, while Liberty will play blind. (Roderick Osis)
