Louisians reign in BBEAL combat events

SAINT Louis University (SLU) romped to another solid finish to lead in the judo and taekwondo event at the resumption of the 22nd season of the Baguio Benguet Educational Athletic League (BBEAL).

The Navigators took four gold medals, taking three in the men division and one gold in the women's division, and adding four silver and two bronze medal finishes.

Cordillera Career Development College took the second spot with four gold medals, two each in the men's and women's division with two silver and seven bronze medal finishes.

The University of the Cordillera (UC), on the other hand, bagged three golds, four silvers and five bronze medals for a decent third place finish in the combative event.

University of Baguio (UB) placed fourth with three golds, including one silver and six bronze medal finishes.

Philippine Military Academy (PMA) had three silvers and six bronzes to claim the fifth spot, while Pines City Colleges closed the tournament with no medal haul.

In taekwondo, SLU closed out with a four gold medal haul, including three silvers and four bronze medal finishes.

UB and Benguet State University (BSU), on the other hand, took two gold medals apiece with the former adding one silver and five bronze medals.

UC, PMA, University of the Philippines (UP), and Baguio Central University accounted one gold apiece in the event.

UC had five silvers in the event adding four bronzes, while PMA had five silver finishes and two bronze medals.

UP took eight bronze medals.
