Broken road caused vehicular accident

RESIDENTS in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon said a vehicular mishap involving two vehicles that occurred in their area at 4:30 p.m. last Tuesday was caused by an unfinished road there.

A motorist by the name of Glemar Cabahug, a resident of Mandaue City died from the accident. Cabahug drove a Mitsubishi Lancer GGJ-692.

Cabahug was headed to Davao City that time when his vehicle collided with a Fuzo bus bearing plate number KVB-418 owned by Qui¤o trucking.

The bus was driven by Abelino Acenas, a resident of Damilag, Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon.

PO3 Manuel Enlo of the Valencia police precinct said Acenas moved to one lane since the road in Manolo Fortich was under repair.

He said Acenas failed to anticipate Cabahug's vehicle at the end of the road. Acenas's Mitsubishi car winded up crushed underneath the Fuzo bus.

The motorist failed to survive the incident. According to residents the road had long been wanting in repair but the local government had yet to address this.

Acenas voluntarily turned himself over to the police and was detained at the Manolo Fortich Police Precinct pending the filing of charges against him. (From SSB)
