City Hall readies Friendship Park
By Stephen Capillas

A DANCING fountain, a public kiosk and tourist class comforts rooms are among the projects incorporated by Mayor Vicente Emano in the development plan of the Golden Friendship Park.

The mayor said Cagayan de Oro Rep. Constantino Jaraula would donate tourist-class comfort rooms.

And while the City waits for the arrival of globe lights ordered from another country Emano said a supplier of regale lights will start setting up rope lights at trees in Divisoria to light up the park.

The mayor explained that the City Government won't spend a single centavo for the project, saying philanthropists city residents are donating the lights.

Meanwhile City Planning Coordinator Engr. Emmanuel Abejuela said businessmen in Divisoria will also set up counterparts, like block paving the sidewalk fronting them and painting the facade of their buildings.

Food and beverage giant San Miguel Corp. also offered to install lighted signages for all business establishments that would participate in the Divisoria night cafe.

The ambitious night cafe project will be launched early next month, it was learned.

The mayor said all this is being done to restore Divisoria's reputation as Cagayan de Oro's first urban commercial area spot.

"Pagmodernizar niini ngadto sa usa ka Night Cafe ug Eatery Area sama sa mga inilang dakbayan sa ubang mga kanasuran (This is being modernized via a night cafe and eatery area like other renowed cities in nations)," Mayor Emano said.
