Cebu riflemen outgun Oro rivals in shootfest By Lynde Salgados
MEL Lapinid's invincibility before the local fans apparently took a beating at the hands of Boy Alcoseba of Cebu Air-Rifle Association who led Cara's recent conquest here at Coarsa's shooting range along Barangay Lapasan highway.
The sharp-hitting Alcoseba reigned supreme in the master and expert categories of the 3rd CDO Open Shooting Competition, outgunning Lapinid and the rest of his worthy rivals from the different shooting clubs in the Visayas and Mindanao.
It was actually a double-whammy for the Cebuanos as Cara Team A and Cara Team B also made a 1-2 finish in the three-man contest with Alcoseba producing 30 hits and his Team B counterparts Ian Nacario and Darwin Cabusas marking in 23 points apiece for the second-best team effort.
Even more, Butch Go Flores--president of the Cagayan de Oro Air-Rifle Shooters Association--is thanking Cara, Del Monte Phils. Inc. (DMPI), Davao Oriental Air-Gun Shooters Association (Doagsa), Upland Shooters Association (USA), Eagles, Survivors and Clay Country Club Shooters for their regular participation in the annual shootfest.
The club was also grateful to Hitek Paint Center, DMPI and the Brgy. Lapasan Council for co-sponsoring the event.
