AROUND P200,000 in cash and personal items were stolen by unidentified armed men riding a black DT motorcycle along Rizal Gomez Streets at 2:05 p.m. last Friday.
The victim was identified as 47-year-old Edita Tagaro, a resident of Tin-aw Barangay Agusan this city and the owner of Tagaro Glass office. Her husband is a Shell distributor in Bukidnon.
Police said the theft occured after she withdrew money from the Land Bank branch in Capistrano street this city with a helper named Abril Alquillos.
The victim recounted to the police that she and Alquillos waited and boarded a motorela and they were joined by the two suspects.
She said one of the suspects pointed a .45 pistol on them and demanded that they give him their belongings.
Taken from Tagaro's possession were the P196,000 in cash, her wallet containing P4,000 cash, her Nokia 8310 cellphone worth P15,000.
It was learned that one of suspects got off a motorela after having served as lookout and then boarded a black DT Yamaha motorcycle.
The victim intended to deposit the money at Allied Bank. Police precinct 1 chief Sen. Insp. Jason Aguillon said the suspects had been monitoring the victim's activities for sometime.
When the victim was shown photos of some theft suspects she pointed to PO2 Rodrigo Solon's picture and alleged that she was the man who robbed her.
According to the victim's description the suspect is mestizo-looking, stands 5'6 and aged 27 to 32 years old and clad in a yellow T-shirt.
Aguillon said they have been monitoring Solon's group for sometime.
Police had been posted in every bank following the spate of bank robberies in the past month.
"Duna may pulis diha pero ang mga biktima nibaklay pa man didto sa mingaw nga dapit (There were police in the area but the victims walked to the quiet part of the area)," he said.
Solon's group is responsible for the Star mart Caltex robbery in Barangay Gusa. He is being hunted down by police as of presstime.
