CDA to stage Minda coop conference By Stephen Capillas
President Arroyo to attend event
THE regional office of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) 10 said the Mindanao Cooperative Conference will be held at the Grand Caprice Restaurant this city this Friday.
In a press statement Regional CDA 10 Director Orlando Ravanera said the conference is also held in time for the celebration of the anniversary of Cooperative Laws Republic Act 6938 and 6939.
The activity is expected to drawn in over 3,000 cooperative leaders throughout Northern Mindanao together with representatives from the local government units (LGUs), civil society, business sector, academe, development and financial institutions.
President Arroyo is expected to attend the conference along with Mayor Vicente Emano, Acting Misamis Oriental Gov. Miguel de Jesus, Chairman Ruben Conti of the CDA's board of directors, Land Bank President Margarito Teves and Tourism Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan among others.
The activities lined up include the launching of the GMA sa Kooperatiba program, the Coop Training Institute, the issue on electric cooperatives, policy reforms on loans to cooperatives, resolution for amendments of the twin coop laws and appointment of cooperative development officers.
