Mayor opens new routes to meet hike in passengers

TO CATER to the increase in number of passengers, Mayor Vicente Emano early this week ordered the opening of a new route to ply the Xavier Heights-Carmen-Westbound Terminal route and vice versa.

Acting upon the recommendation of the East and Westbound Terminals and Public Market Management Authority and the request of RTA overseer Antonio Montalba, the mayor also authorized 20 public utility jeepneys to ply the Routes A and B to 10 units per route.

Pursuant to Executive Order 19-2004, the inflow of Route A would be: from Xavier Heights Subdivision passing Masterson Avenue left turn towards Vamenta Blvd., left towards V. Castro St., right towards Vamenta Blvd proceeding towards PN Road, right towards national highway, left towards the access road at Westbound Terminal and Public Market, passing the perimeter road in counter clockwise motion.

Its outflow would be from Westbound Terminal passing the access road, left towards the National Highway, right towards RN Pelaez Blvd., right turn Masterson Avenue proceeding its destination.

Meanwhile, the inflow of Route B would be from Xavier Heights Subdivision passing Masterson Avenue, left towards Vamenta Boulevard proceeding RN Pelaez Blvd, left turn towards the National Higway right turn towards the access road leading to Westbound Terminal passing the perimeter road in counter clockwise motion.

Its outflow would be from Westbound terminal passing the access road, right turn towards the National Highway, left turn towards PN Roa St. right turn towards Vamenta Blvd., right turn towards Max Suniel St., left turn towards V. Neri St., left turn towards V. Castro St., right turn towards Vamenta Blvd., right turn towards Masterson Avenue proceeding their destination.

In view of this, Mayor Emano tasked the RTA to ensure that all appropriate traffic signs are placed along all affected areas to guide the public.
