Green versus Gray in Subokin finals By Lynde Salgados
IT's Topvill Green Kings of Claveria mayor Rocky Calingin and Mega Sardines Gray Devils mentored by Dodo Bernados in championship game of the 2004 Subokin Inter-Color basketball tournament here.
The titular match, capping a long-drawn played elimination games, will be concluded on Saturday (2 pm) at Barangay Macasandig's covered court.
Also anchored by CDO Stars head coach Andy Calingin, Green dribblers looked determined enough to win the prestige-laden battle as indicated by their tedious preparation.
"Ila g'yong gipangandaman na nga dula kay sa amo lang nakig-tune up match gyod sila," Pilgrim college varsity team coach Arvin Martinez told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro Wednesday.
But Bernados, whose coaching tandem with the club's chairman of the board Yangyang Rollan had
already produced wonderful moments for the Gray squad in the past, is also out to prove why he got the nod of governor Oscar "Macho" Moreno to handle the rejuvenated Misamis Oriental team.
"Daghan ang nalipay nga kita ang gisaligan nga modala sa Misor team so, kayod gyod `ta ini'g paningkamot," Bernados said earlier.
Gray team is made up of Jerome Pagute, Boyboy Abrio, Boning Biongcog, Chris Tan, Jay Rafisura, Eric Delima, Entot Puertas, Jets Ortiz, Tynee Peñaflor, Diggy Roxas and Gladi Labitad.
Completing Green's cast are Jukens Talahid, Topi Labitad, Noknok San Jose, Roldan Lagbas, Balong Lagbas, Botchok Lagbas, Andrew Neri, Jean Marc Natividad and Boboy "The Hulk" Sabal.
