P600-T set for Bulua victim: suspect
THE prime suspect in the so-called "Bulua sex scandal" finally voiced his side on the issue through his lawyers in a radio interview.
The lawyers of Engr. Jose Emmanuel Docdocil said Thursday their client denied the charges against him made by the victim.
Attorneys Samson Aguilar and Alfredo Caritas Jr. said they managed to convince Docdocil to answer the allegations out of their sympathy for him.
"Among gitambagan nga mo-participate kay aduna ra bay panultion nga 'silence means yes (We advised him to participate because there is a saying "silence means yes")," Aguilar said.
Docdocil sent documentary evidence through his lawyers in which he denied his involvement in the scandal.
In response the victim said the accused has all the right to say whatever he wants to say through his lawyers.
"They exaggerated their stories and it is but normal that they would malign me...they all said fabricated things," she said in the vernacular.
According to Aguilar, Docdocil and his accuser had an affair and that she received P600,000 during the course of their relationship.
It was said that Docdocil stopped giving the woman money after discovering that she spent it for another man.
The lawyers also brought with them letters purportedly from the woman proving they had an affair and the allegations against him aren't true.
"That rape allegation is far from the truth...if she was indeed raped, then why did she accepted the money?" the lawyers said in the dialect.
Docdocil's lawyers said their client had been humiliated by the incident that even reached his family in the US through the Internet.
The lawyers also believed that the man in the sex video wasn't Docdocil and that he didn't distribute the video because he was already in America when it broke out.
It was learned that Docdocil already left the country as early as March last year for the US where he currently resides.
Docdocil's lawyers will attend the preliminary investigation on his behalf this February 9. (Jenefer Besere of Sun.Star Superbalita)
