Transportation agency opens Lugait office
ILIGAN CITY -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) 10 office will soon open an extension office in Lugait town in Misamis Oriental in a move to maximize its revenue collection efforts.
LTO 10 Director Porcawa Dia recently said the mobile LTO office based in Lugait, Misamis Oriental and headed by officer-in-charge Michael Darimbang, has consistently shown a significant increase in revenue collections and forecasts at least some P1.5 million revenues for the current year.
"It is proper to have an extension office in some strategic areas under my jurisdiction in order to generate more revenues for the government" Dia said.
This after Dia conferred with LTO operations chief lawyer Dominador Awitin to send the necessary documents for the opening of the Lugait extension office.
The move is supported by formal requests from the different transport organizations in the area, Lugait mayor Wellie G. Lin, Misamis Oriental Second District Representative Augusto Baculio Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno, media organizations, civic clubs and other sectors.
The LTO Lugait mobile office, which started operations in 2003, was recently ranked number one in terms of revenue collection of the LTO Region 10 field offices. (Lino dela Cruz)
