Fiesta badminton cup held in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY -- The Señor San Isidro Invitational Badminton Tournament was successfully held last May 7 and 8 at KM 4 Badminton Center, attracting not only locals but participants from Busco, Quezon and Cagayan de Oro City as well.

The City Government of Malaybalay, under the leadership of Mayor Florencio T. Flores Jr., hosted the event. The tournament, which adopted the single round robin format, was one of the activities held in line with the city fiesta on May 15 in honor of patron saint San Isidro.

Tournament winners are as follows: Women's Doubles Category (Class C) Champion: Peri Medridano/Liza Requiña, 1st Runner-up: Bea Manguiran/Jehanne Manguiran; (Class D) Champion: May Flor B. Intong/Trisha Sario, 1st Runner-up: Marieliese Sereno/Joyce Agravante; (Class E) Champion: Nova Ching/Debra Samontan, 1st Runner-up: Annie Cañeba/Lida Bagonoc

Men's Doubles Category (Class C) Champion: Benhur Ybar Sabal/M. Delute, 1st Runner-up: Ranilo Arca/Jecjec Rebullos; (Class D) Champion: Auggie Redulla/Ju Salces, 1st Runner-up: Jeffrey Doromal/Ru Diansay; (Class E) Champion: George Salo/Jick Gellor, 1st Runner-up: Ralph Espedido/Jeffrey Doromal. Winners received cash prizes and trophies.

Meanwhile, other activities slated for the Malaybalay City fiesta are the Shoot Fest at the 403rd Shooting Range (May 14-15), Buhagay at the Ampitheater and DXMB Anniversary Celebration (May 15, 1pm and 6 pm), Boxing at the City Covered Court, Barangay 4 (May 15, 1pm) and Bazaar at the City Plaza (entire month of May).
