Former guv's kid abducted By Lino dela Cruz
ILIGAN CITY -- A grandchild of the late Lanao del Sur Governor was kidnapped by three armed men early Friday morning here while being brought to school.
Brig. Gen. Ben Dolorfino, Philippine Marines 2nd Brigade and Task Force Lanao commander, said the five-year-old Alfara Adiong Amerol, a grandchild of the late Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong, was abducted by at least three armed men at about 8 a.m. Friday while being brought to school by a "yaya" on board a family service vehicle.
Dolorfino said armed men commandeered the victim's vehicle and left the yaya and the driver. However, they later transferred to a getaway vehicle together with the victim.
Authorities have recovered the abandoned vehicle but the victim was believed brought to Tagoloan town, Lanao del Norte.
Dolorfino said an uncle of the victim and Tagoloan town mayor is currently negotiating with the kidnappers who are demanding a ransom for the release of the 5-year old victim.
It is still not known how much ransom the kidnappers are demanding.
