Liceo stude bags Singing Ambassador title

THE Department of Tourism recently launched its DOT-10 Search for Singing Ambassador at the Atrium of SM City Cagayan de Oro.
The Search for Singing Ambassador is open only to college students in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental as well. Cheery Angeline Madriaga of Liceo de Cagayan captures the heart of the judges as she renders the Ella Mae Saison's version of "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin" and outshines the rest of the contestants when she was proclaimed DOT-10 Singing Ambassador last Friday, September 16.
Regional Director Catalino Chan III said the Singing Ambassador would automatically become part of the Department of Tourism team in promoting the program of the DOT. "It's the right time to have a pride from the region, especially on the studentry, who can help in the promotion of Region 10. College students are knowledgeable enough in the different tourists spots and destination our region can offer," he said.
The Singing Ambassador received P3,000 plus trophy and gift certificates, while the second and third prize receive P2,000 and P1,000 plus trophy and gift certificates, respectively. Contestants were required to render only Original Pilipino Music during the contest.
Glad Benaldo of SM, Bernard Mabao and Dave Alba graced the competition.
The contestants were Rorry Abarquez of Liceo de Cagayan; Sheena Celmar Damiao of Capitol University; May Heducos of Capitol University; Jon Robert Manuel of Lourdes College; Jetaime Yamut of Liceo de Cagayan; Meriely Bation from Tagoloan Community College, 3rd prize winner; Eliemer Bation from Lourdes College; Cristina Gadot from Cagayan de Oro College; Michelle Mesias from Cagayan de Oro College, 2nd prize winner; and Lester Udang from Xavier University.
