2nd Oro Archery Open a success

THE homeground bets shared the spotlight with the Dumaguete-based archers in the 2nd Cagayan de Oro Open Archery Tournament being concluded here recently at Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center.

The Achas siblings (Mc Gee, Bukanah George, Beau Bell and Fabius), in the company of Easter Grace Rosqueta, had a collective triumphant finish for Cagayan de Oro in the standard for boys (21-under), the juniors for boys (15-under) and the cadet for boys and girls (12-under).

This, as the Silliman University Dumaguete Archery Club--bannered by the experienced pair of Wayne Larsen and Neil Divinagracia--went on to complete a sweeping domination in the men's and women's open recurve.

Organizer lawyer Recto Achas said the Archery Open was a big success, even as he reiterated his call to the local Palaro management to reconsider the inclusion of archery event for the city's bid in the forthcoming regional meet. (LLS)
