Eighth most wanted in Region 10 arrested

THE eighth most wanted person in Region 10 who bore a P300,000 reward on his head was arrested by police and presented to media last Thursday evening.

Local media attended the presentation spearheaded by outgoing Philippine National Police (PNP) 10 Regional Director Superintendent Dante Tejada.

The suspect was identified as Brenden Lopez alias Boyet of Poblacion, Kalilangan town in Bukidnon province.

The Bukidnon Provincial Command headed by Provincial PNP Director Senior Superintendent Archie Gamboa arrested Lopez.

Lopez's arrest was facilitated through the arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Trial Court of Lanao del Norte dated last November 12, 2002.

The suspect is facing double murder charges after being identified as the person who allegedly shot down both Elmer Vallao and June Ruben, residents of Poblacion, Salvador town in Lanao del Norte last 2002.

After the incident, Lopez reportedly went into hiding and transferred from one place to another for three years.

Lopez was spotted last week when he went home. The police who presented the alias warrant immediately arrested him.

The arrest is seen as the last feather on the cap for Tejada who is scheduled to retire Sunday and turnover his command sometime on Monday this coming week.

The suspect is scheduled to be turned over to the court in Lanao del Norte where the double murder charges are pending against him. (From sun.star superbalita)
