Christmas symbols competition in Tangub City on

TANGUB CITY -- Dubbed as Christmas capital of Northern Mindanao, the City of Tangub starts lighting its Christmas arc in 27 barangays who join the competition in the first night of judging last November 29.

City Vice Mayor Edemar S. Alota told SunStar Cagayan de Oro, "Today's energy crisis is not a hindrance of showcasing the renown Christmas symbols competition, which are fully participated in by different barangays, various city departments and residents who will also compete for the most lighted house. The City of Tangub will also participate the national competition on Christmas symbols called CHRISTMASTERPIECE sponsored by UNILEVER with P1 Million worth of prize for a Community Livelihood Center awaits the winner."

The UNILEVER required at least 150 empty bottles or small sized container of any UNILEVER products to become part in building a Christmas symbols which also promotes recycling of material to help promote a clean and healthy environment.

City Mayor Jennefer Wee Tan expressed high hopes for an economic recovery, prosperity and political stability early next year for as long as the Filiino people will unite, for better change and move forward undivided. "One people, one vision, one Mindanao."

Tangub City is one of the tourist destinations of Northern Mindanao in December. Mayor Tan would lead the ceremonial switch on of all Christmas symbols display mounted at the city hall grounds on December 1 at 8:00 in the evening.

The coastal communities of Lanao del Norte and around Panguil Bay would be watching the famous and colorful fireworks display that would add on to the Christmas symbols competition.

Meanwhile, on the evening on December 8, Pagadian City would hold the first Lantern Parade led by Mayor Samuel Co.
