Polistico, Jabagat wow Lumbia cage fans

WITH its Twin Towers reporting for duty, Palalan Pride notched its first win in open division of the exciting Barangay Lumbia Summer basketball tournament in this city.

The huge presence of Dong Polistico and fellow CDO Star Nick Jabagat inside the paints took the sting out of its rival's offensive thrust as Palalan cruised to an easy 98-78 victory over the Loloy Varga-led Layaw Five.

Palalan's smallest guy on the floor Lynde Salgados also debuted with a bang as he top-scored with 26 points, mostly on daring drives and perimeter jumpers.

Jabagat had 24 while Polistico and Palalan's two other reinforcements James Abucejo and Jaime Frias also came up with double-digit numbers.

Lumbia chair Allan T. Angara and SK head Aerol Torralba had warmly welcomed the two giants' (Polistico and Jabagat) participation in the summer cagefest.

"They have a towering factor to attract more spectators in this basketball event," Angara said.

Also seeing action are the JAM Ent., SPOW, Extra Strong, Patpat, Heat Makers, Lumbia Jam, La Buena Vida and Frontiera teams.

Members of the executive committee supervising the tournament include Eugene Lamac-lamac, Alvin Pelayo, Ailyn Pelayo, Malou Peodor, Precious Yacapin, Abba Daba, Kokong Laborte, Marjon Lamac-lamac and Jonathan Lacandazo.

The whistlemen are made up of Rosendo Ocularis, Wilson Salunoy, Josyn Lamac-lamac, and Alot Dairo.
