By Abigail Chee Kee-Malalis

IT IS one of the pioneering and still existing Japanese restaurants in Cagayan de Oro City.

Kamogawa, which means river, proudly beams with its delectable Japanese cuisine. It has the ambiance of a perfect fine dining with a taste of absolute Japanese setting.

Congratulations to the graduates of 2006! Post your graduation experiences and greetings here.

Kamogawa restaurant opens its doors to Kagay-anons on January 12, 1997. Edgardo Saarenas, a musician based in Japan met Yukari Hayashi, a native from Osaka who eventually captures the Pinoy musician's heart. They are blessed with two kids.

Yukari, in her effort to preserve the Japanese blood in her, put up the restaurant giving utmost cognizance to Japanese cuisine. True to its name, Kamogawa really champions delectable Japanese menus. She manages to survive the business amidst the ups and downs it experiences for the past nine (9) years. Her quest for more knowledge on running the restaurant and searching for more innovative taste makes Kamogawa what it is now.

Since the start of the business, generation of chefs took part in maintaining and serving their clientele. Ms. Yukari personally shares her knowledge in preparing and cooking the menus they offer.

"People usually think that we are an expensive resto, but then if they just happen to drop by and experience dining with us, then I can assure you that what we are offering are so "sulit" and affordable," Ms. Jillian Aro, restaurant in charge said.

"We are offering this month an extension of our anniversary...an Eat-All-U-Can at P198 only with 10 Japanese courses to choose from. For budget conscious, a customer can have a choice of Sushi for as low as P31," she added. Mix sashimi, mix Maki, mix Tempura, Teppanyaki (a choice of beef, chicken, pork and squid), and Gyouza are just some of the Japanese courses they offer during their Eat-All-U-Can.

Kamogawa is just a phone call away. They also accept take out orders. For more info contact them at tel # 856-2259 or 72-7700.
