Questions rise on sex scandal
By Lizanilla J. Amarga

THE controversial sex scandal involving two employees of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Cagayan de Oro has now reached other areas in the country and even worldwide through the Internet and has embarrassed some city residents.

Several sources including one BIR-Northern Mindanao employee confirmed that the woman and the man whose photos appear in this new sex scandal e-mail are indeed BIR employees.

Also, the woman was wearing a BIR uniform in several bed scene photos while two separate frontal photos similar to that of a 2x2 passport photos of the two BIR employees were among those leaked to the public.

But a number of skeptics believe that the two BIR employees who are both married to separate partners should be given the benefit of a doubt as the photos could be digitally altered.

Some said this latest sex scandal is "not as vivid as the last two sex scandals that rocked the city" considering that the BIR Sex Scandal videotapes merely contains photos and not a video footage.

Sun.Star was forwarded a copy of the "BIR Sex Scandal" through e-mail that contains some 43 photos and separate videotape containing more photos.

The source of the e-mail who requested anonymity disclosed that she received this BIR Sex Scandal through several friends and relatives online.

She said four of her friends who received the e-mail are in Europe, Canada, New York, and Japan.

"The BIR-10 Sex Scandal has really proliferated," she said.

The BIR Sex Scandal e-mail received by Sun.Star already contains over 100 forwarding e-mail addresses. The first forwarding e-mail address was dated October 20, 2006.

This has given proof on how far and wide the BIR Sex Scandal controversial photos have reached.

The source said these photos have drawn several reactions from those who received a copy of the same.

"I even have a friend in Cebu City who teases me on how we here in Cagayan de Oro already has three sex scandals," she said. "It is really embarrassing even if in our times these days we should no longer be that surprised."

A videotape of the BIR Sex Scandal was also reduced to a video compact disc or VCD form and sold to the public, a VCD/DVD vendor disclosed.

He said they received a copy late October this year and that they have already burned numerous copies.

"We don't sell it to just anyone," the vendor said.

Nevertheless, there were several photos on the different sexual positions that the man and the woman did on the different motels they went to.

But most of the photos only focused on the woman who was indeed considerably pretty and very trusting to allow the man to take such "compromising" photos of her.

Sun.Star tried to contact BIR regional director Mustapha Gandarosa and assistant regional director Alberto Olasiman but both again were unavailable for comment as of Friday.
