THE City Assessment Department projected a total of P269,160 in tax collectibles from real property units for the month of October, this year.
City Assessor Atinodoro Asequia disclosed that last month, the City Assessment Department assessed P13,416,820 worth of residential land, agricultural land, other land classifications as well as residential buildings posting a tax collectible of P134,170.
The city also expected to get another P134,990 in tax collectibles from a total of P6,748,750 worth of commercial land, industrial buildings, commercial buildings, industrial machinery, and commercial machinery assessed by the City Assessment Department last month.
The total tax collectibles from real property units are taken from one percent of assessed market value of properties in the city.
Asequia said that by next month they are hoping that more properties will be assessed and taxpayers will pay their tax dues on time.
Meanwhile, to give way for additional improvements, the Kagay-an Resort swimming pools in Taguanao, Barangay Indahag were temporarily closed for public use.
Resort manager Paulita R. Roa disclosed that the two pools in the resort are undergoing improvements to ensure safety of the swimming public, most especially the children.
Roa said that there is no definite schedule for the completion of the pool improvement but that it will reopen to the public as soon as the works are completed.
However, the conference hall and cottages are still available for public use from Monday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The City Government hoped that after all the improvements in the City Government-owned resort are done, it can provide a totally relaxing experience for all Cagayanons especially the poor residents.
The Kagay-an Resort opened in September this year and imposes an entrance fee of P5 for guests 8 years old and above and P2 for children seven years old and below.
City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano envisions the resort to become a community resort, which can be enjoyed even by the poor residents of the city. (CIO)
