Misor to face Lanao in MVBA Minda semis
ILIGAN CITY -- M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu displayed awesome offense and formally assured themselves of home court advantage throughout the upcoming playoffs of the ML Kwarta Padala Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA) Second Conference last December 1 by pulverizing the Iligan Archangels, 104-95, at the MSU-IIT Gym.
Trailing by three in the second period, 35-38, Coach Raul Alcoseba inserted seldom-used guard Troy Mercader and he responded by scoring quick back-to-back baskets to put M. Lhuillier on top for good, 39-38.

Jayford Rodriguez and Stephen Padilla added three more baskets for a 45-38 halftime tally.
In the emotional third period, Padilla then dropped four of his six triples and Enrico Llanto frolicked under the basket to blow the game wide open.
Tempers flared as Archangel Francis Sanz was ejected for punching Llanto at the 7:36 mark while Sammy Ayodelle and Marlon Piodo both got the boot for giving each other cheap shots with 4:24 to go.
M. Lhuillier held form to lead entering the final period, 80-61.
Cheered by their home fans, the now undermanned Archangels mounted one final rally behind Jeffrey France and Michael Sereno, with a three-point play by center Jerson Espinosa cutting their deficit to six, 92-98, and 52 ticks to play.
However, Aldrin Ocanada bailed out the Jewelers with back-to-back lay-ups.
Padilla led M. Lhuillier with 20 points followed by Llanto with 17 as four other teammates also had twin digits. France and Marvin Tundag paced the Archangels with 20 markers each. M. Lhuillier's defense limited MVBA scoring leader Dino Cabili to only two first period baskets.
M. Lhuillier thus earned its eighth win in nine games for the best record in the league generously backed by ML Kwarta Padala, Cokaliong Shipping Lines, Nature's Spring Water, Reva Sandals, Gameface.Ph and Nike Basketball.
Even if they lost their game unfinished at press time last night with the Lanao Royals, M. Lhuillier holds the tiebreaker over Cebu Landmaster-Mantawi.
The Archangels of Mayor Lawrence Cruz finished the classification round with a 3-7 win-loss card and will now prepare for their December 6 semifinal date with the MP Warriors-GenSan of Manny Pacquiao.
