Celebrities abound in PAL inter-club tourney

BUKIDNON Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri, Cagayan De Oro City Representative Constantino Jaraula, Court of Appeals Justice Rodolfo Lim Jr., and Pueblo de Oro and Del Monte Philippines officials are among the special guests invited to hit ceremonial drives in this year's Philippine Airlines' (PAL) Interclub this month.

"Once again, we have special guests to hit the ceremonial drives, which is a PAL Interclub tradition," said PAL senior assistant vice president for Mindanao Domingo Duerme, the Interclub chairman.

The 20th seniors championship starts Feb. 16 and the men's tournament reels off Feb. 21 at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club and at the Del Monte Golf and Country Club in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

Zubiri, Manolo Fortich Mayor Socorro O. Acosta, Del Monte Philippines Inc. general manager-COO Luis F. Alejandro, Pueblo de Oro Development Corp. Vice President and General Manager Rodolfo Menes, PAL President Jaime Bautista and Duerme will do the ceremonial drives in the seniors event.

Doing the honors in the men's regular tournament are Jaraula, Court of Appeals for Mindanao Justice Rodolfo L. Lim Jr., Del Monte Philippines Inc., Assistant General Manager Henry T. Lao, Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Immediate Past President Ruben V. Vegafrancia, Bautista and Duerme.

Duerme also said Sunday that big companies are sponsoring this year's competition. Among these are Action Asia, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Callaway Golf, 105.1 Crossover, GE Aviation, Gecas, Mizuno, People Asia and Royal Caribbean, which are the major backers.
