XUHS batch '89, SM sponsor 'An Inconvenient Truth' showing

"AN INCONVENIENT Truth," the Oscar-nominated documentary on global warming, is coming to SM City-Cagayan de Oro Cinema 1 February 19 to 24, 2007.

The film, starring Al Gore--the former Vice President of the United States of America, has caught the attention of the world and stirred the scientific community for its candid look at the issue of climate change and greenhouse-gas emissions and its consequences to the environment.

Post your Valentine's Day greetings

Recently, the United Nation's Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that global warming is likely the result of human activity.

At no time is the documentary more relevant than today, as the world begins to experience extreme cold conditions in some countries or extremely hot temperatures in others.

The film showing is sponsored by Xavier University High School Batch `89 in partnership with Mindanao Community Development Innovations Inc. (MCDI), E. Pelaez Ranch Inc., Mapawa Nature Park Corporation and Duka Bay Resort Inc.

Xavier University, Liceo de Cagayan University, Corpus Christi School and the Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School have committed to send their high school and college students to watch the film.

A special screening will also be held on February 22, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at SM Cinema 1. Xavier University President Fr. Jose Ramon T. Villarin, a scientist and an expert on climate change, shall also deliver a presentation before and after the screening.

For ticket sales and reservations, please call Ms. Liberty Rajal at telephone numbers 857-2660 or 8572730.
