Friday, February 23, 2007 Oro gov't earns P208M in January
THE City Government of Cagayan de Oro has earned a total of P208,607,918.06 in local revenues for the month of January, this year.
City Treasurer Lino Daral disclosed this as the city's collection posted a P15,944,445.04 difference or eight percent compared to the P192,663,473.02, which the City Government collected in January last year.
Daral said the January collection came from Real Property Tax -- P16,407,034.89; Business Tax -- P153,999,322.04; hospital fees -- P514,140; income from the operations of the City Economic and Enterprises Department -- P5,859,695.64; income from the West Bound Public Market and Terminal -- P214,989.37; income from the East Bound Public Market and Terminal -- P132,282; building permits -- P504,243.03; other fees -- P392,056.85.
The city also earned for the month of January this year a total of P40,404,296 in Internal Revenue Allotment.
Of the total income earned by the City Government last month, P9,820,142.06 was spent for education and barangay funds.
Along this, the city treasurer expressed his gratitude to the local taxpayers for paying their obligations on time even as he reminded them of the deadline for the payment of real property tax, which will be due on March 31 while the issuance of community tax certificate will be until February 28 only.
Those who will pay their real property tax and community tax certificate after the due date will be charged an additional penalty.
Daral also called on the stallholders in Cogon, Agora and Puerto public markets to pay their business permits before February 28 at the CEED office in Cogon Market where the one-stop processing center of the City Finance Department is established. (CIO)
