Kim is a businessman involved in selling "ukay-ukay" (used clothing) whose establishment -- Kim In-Su Enterprises Corp. -- is located along Daumar-Yacapin streets.
A police report revealed that the suspect was beating Dennis Disanito, 15, using pliers.
The victim, a native of Pigsag-an, Barangay Tumpagon, this city, suffered a deep cut on the head due to the incident.
Lucagbo said the incident took place inside the store of Kim last Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The victim, it was learned, was helping his uncle sort out used clothing when suddenly Kim hit him with a hard object in the head.
"He cried out at the pain it caused him on the head that's why he went to the precinct to report this to us," Lucagbo said.
He was then rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Responding policemen from the precinct immediately went to Kim's place and arrested him.
Disanito said it was not the first time Kim maltreated him. He said it happened several times already.
Minutes after the suspect's arrest, several policemen who are said to be friends of the suspect came to the precinct and requested the precinct commander for a custody but were denied.
Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro learned that Kim has a business partner -- a retired police superintendent who was holding a key position at Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao in Camp Alagar.
It was not sure whether the police official also visited Cogon precinct for the same favor.
Lucagbo said Disanito's parents are willing to pursue the case against the Korean businessman.
Police committed the suspect Wednesday to the prosecutor's office for an inquest. The suspect was charged with violating the child abuse law.
