Dimakiling actually tied with fellow IM from Cebu, Barlo Nadera but the Dabawenyo prevailed in the Bucholz tiebreak to cop the Rapid title. The two, however, got an equal purse of P9,000 each.
"Sayang kay pildehonon nako siya sa first round naka-ikyas pa," Cagayan de Oro's Jaime Frias said of the veteran Nadera.
Gingoog pride Allan Cantonjos shared third to 6th places at 5.5 points with Misor trainer Johnnel Balquin, Cebu's Anthony Makinano and Davao's Harrison Maamo. They received P4,000 each.
Occupying seventh to 9th places were IM Richard Bitoon of Cebu, Bength Largo of Iligan and NM Ernesto Fernandez of Pagadian. They're bunched at 5 points to secure P1,000, respectively. Landing at 10th and 11th spots with 4.5 points each and P500 taking are IM Emmanuel Senador and the little-known Rodney Opada.
