MALAYBALAY, BUKIDNON - Members and pensioners of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) here now have an alternative to withdrawing their loan proceeds or pension benefits using their eCard Plus even if there are no Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in their area.
Through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) reached by M. Lhuillier, Union Bank of the Philippines and Paycheck.Net, Inc., GSIS stakeholders can now withdraw money through the point-of-sale (Pos) terminal in the M. Lhuillier branch in Fortich Street.
Under the MOA, Paycheck will provide the POS terminals to M. Lhuillier branches within the vicinity of GSIS servicing offices all over the country, particularly on places where ATM services are not available.
By going to these selected M. Lhuillier branches and transacting through the Pos terminals, GSIS members and pensioners can inquire about their Union Bank accounts and withdraw their loan proceeds and pension benefits.
Union Bank, as the settlement bank of GSIS, processes all inquiries and withdrawal transactions forwarded to it by M. Lhuillier.
Only members and pensioners with an eCard Plus can transact using the Pos terminals.
GSIS President and General Manager Winston F. Garcia said the partnership is part of the ongoing evolution of the eCard System that culminates with the pension fund bringing its services right to the members and pensioners.
