AYALA Land Inc. officials opened their Alegria Hills subdivision project in Barangay Indahag in Cagayan de Oro City with a bang during the groundbreaking ceremony at the site last Saturday.
Graced by City Hall officials and members of the local business community, the groundbreaking was followed by the grand launch at the Atrium in Limketkai Center later that evening.
The groundbreaking ceremony held at the Phase 1 of Alegria Hills opens the initial development of 53 hectares of the 350-hectare property in the highlands of Macasandig, Indahag and Camaman-an.
In a speech, Ayala Land Inc. Visayas-Mindanao branch Vice-President Francis Monera said the project is a "fulfillment of a promise" and the start of something big for both the city residents and the company alike.
For his part, Mayor Vicente Emano thanked Ayala Land Inc. officials for launching the subdivision project near the end of his term.
He also said he foresees the opening of the Alegria Hills housing project as generating more jobs and spurring the local economy. "Where Ayala goes, everybody follows," he said.
As of now, Alegria Hills has 95 lots that are up for sale. These lots comprise the first phase of the initial development spanning an area of eight hectares.
At the Alegria Hills, Ayala Land Inc. is said to develop several facilities such as a pocket park, sports facility, watershed treatment facility, chapel, ravine orchards, promontory point, canyon trails and a central park.
"Alegria, a Spanish word for joy and merriment, connotes a happy place where a family finds fulfillment in a community with shared dreams and values. And that is what Ayala Land is offering to Cagayanons," Ayala Land Inc. Head for Vismin Marketing and Sales, Tetta Baad said.
Perched atop the sloping highlands of Cagayan de Oro, yet merely a 10-minute drive from LimketKai Center, Alegria Hills offers a panoramic view of the city and the Macajalar Bay.
Baad said Alegria Hills carries the Ayala Land Premier brand and is master-planned in the tradition that Ayala Land Inc. is known for.
