WHAT started as a favorite past time of eight "barkadas" now becomes Cagayan de Oro's first authentic Chinese resto, serving only authentic Chinese cuisine and delicacies.
Red Moon, a newly opened Chinese resto, is a brainchild of eight young professionals, who were "barkadas" since their grade school years at Kong Hua School. The barkadas food trip reaches as far as Cebu, Davao, Valencia and Iligan just to savor and satisfy each palate plus the thrill and enjoyment of having each other's company.
It was through this favorite past time that their "dream" of establishing a food business has come into its full potential now.
With P4 million, being equally shared by its barkadas, they were able to have a suitable and conducive place enough for their business. Located along Velez corner Hayes Sts in the heart of Divisoria here in Cagayan de Oro, Red Moon offers Chinese cuisine and delicacies at a reasonable price.
One need not go to China to have a taste of what Chinese people has to offer and are proud of its distinct dishes, plus the added ambience and coziness of the place. A touch of modern Chinese is also visible, along with its exquisitely designed Chinese lotus flowers, ang paos, Chinese lanterns and caligraphies of Chinese poems.
The resto can accommodate at least 75 persons, accepts take out orders for customers on the go and soon to offer deliveries and catering services for small functions.
Red in Chinese signifies happiness which radiates from the barkadas' faces as they themselves are ready and eager to serve their customers. The group is now registered under Green Minds Ventures CDO, Inc.
Red Moon, a franchise from Cebu is owned by Mr. Stephen Co and started sometime in 2003. It now has two branches in Cebu and just recently opened its franchise scheme.
The Green Minds Ventures CDO, Inc, which composes of: Stong Lim, Trisha Huan-Lim, Melissa Limchu, Albert Ryan Tan, Ryan Tirso Limbonhai, Sheena Yvette Yeo, Patrick W. Chua, Cliff Nigel Sia, Cliff Marvin Sia and Lesley Ann Lim (ages ranges from 21-25) - is the first to avail of its franchise and the first branch outside its Cebu branches.
