Commotion mars Comelec registration
By Lizanilla J. Amarga

A COMMOTION ensued at the Commission on Elections-Cagayan de Oro City (Comelec-CDO) office early Wednesday as hundreds of registrants trooped to the place to beat the registration deadline this week for the coming Synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections on October 22, 2007.

The near violent commotion prompted Comelec-CDO officer Stalin Baguio to seek assistance from the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo).

This developed as the Task Force Good Governance led by concerned-citizen Manny Valduhuesa on Wednesday also rushed to the scene and noticed how some barangay officials themselves backed some registrants.

"Naay mga hakot...Hakot from Barangay Tuburan. Chairman Tolentino," he told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro Wednesday.

Efforts to contact Tolentino failed.
